Davos Platz or Davos Dorf: where to stay for conference week
Stay in Davos Platz if you will be at the Congress Centre or in the Promenade hotels every day. Stay in Davos Dorf if you want quieter evenings and do not mind a short shuttle ride. Davos is one long town along a valley floor, and the two halves are about 3 km apart.
How Davos is laid out
Davos runs along the Landwasser valley at about 1,560 m. Davos Platz is the southern half, with the Congress Centre, the Promenade hotels and Davos Platz station. Davos Dorf is the northern half, with the lake, the Parsenn railway and Davos Dorf station. The Promenade connects them.
Davos Platz
To the Congress Centre: many apartments are within walking distance.
Around you: the Congress Centre, the hotels where many side meetings take place, and the busiest restaurants.
During the week: traffic on the Promenade is restricted and security checkpoints close some streets. You will walk.
Davos Dorf
To the Congress Centre: a short ride by shuttle or bus.
Around you: the lake, the Parsenn railway and a calmer stretch of the Promenade.
During the week: cars move more freely, so you can be collected at the door.
Outside Davos
Klosters is about 25 minutes from Davos by car or train and has its own hotels and chalets. Our chalets are in Klosters or just south of Davos. For teams of 6 to 12, a chalet keeps the group under one roof. See chalets
How to decide
If you have a breakfast meeting in Davos Platz on most days, stay in Platz. If your days start at the Congress Centre at nine, Dorf works. If your team mostly works from its base and goes into town for specific meetings, a chalet works.
